After many years of efforts, an updated cooperative plan for the management and protection of Groaning Cave has been signed by the Colorado Cave Survey and the White River National Forest. Some of the rules and regulations for visiting Groaning have changed, mostly to reflect the changes in caving equipment and ethics in the 39 years since the original management plan was instituted.
